In fact, Dr. Bradshaw says that if you want to be friends with your cat, you need to act like one of their kind.


He says that cats look at humans as their "mothers" because they want to take care of us and feel like we need them. However, cats don't actually see us as being capable of taking care of ourselves. They see us as like a kitten—in need of constant supervision and assistance.


This is why your cat will always try to get into your food bowl or bathroom trash can. It's not that they're being rude or trying to be sneaky—they actually believe they can't trust you with these things and that they need to keep an eye on them!
