The Ragdoll is a gentle and affectionate cat breed. They are well-known for their docile and laid-back personalities. They are a relatively new cat breed, that also happens to be one of the most popular. As of 2019, they were the most popular cat breed in the United States, according to the Cat Fanciers Association.

Ragdolls are distinguished by their long, muscular bodies and striking blue eyes. They are among the largest of domesticated cats. Females are usually smaller than their male counterparts. Their coats are available in a variety of colors and patterns. Kittens are born completely white, and due to their slow-maturation, they develop their lasting color after 2 to 3 years of age.
